What Actually Shipped
Anthropic dropped a small business plugin for Claude Co-work with 31 pre-built skills. 423,000 downloads already. This is not a demo. It is a working automation layer for real businesses, connected to the tools those businesses already use.
Not API wrappers requiring a developer. Not a system prompt you write yourself. Installed skills that run automatically when Claude detects the relevant task , and connect live to your actual data.
What the Skills Actually Do
Business Pulse. Pulls simultaneously from QuickBooks, Stripe, Gmail, Google Calendar, HubSpot, and Slack. One command, one page: your entire company's financial state, overdue actions, calendar priorities, and open deals, synthesised before your morning coffee. Not a summary of information you could find yourself , a cross-system view that would previously require an analyst to compile.
Invoice Chase. Scores your clients by payment likelihood, drafts tone-matched follow-up emails based on the relationship and overdue amount, and sends them , with your approval, or on autopilot. The tone calibration is the part that matters: it does not send the same template to the $500 overdue invoice and the $50,000 overdue invoice.
Job Post Builder. From one command: a job post, an interview guide, and an offer letter , automatically sent via DocuSign for signature. Three documents, one workflow, no formatting.
Zapier Bridge. The unlock that makes all of this expandable. If a tool is not natively supported in the plugin, the Zapier MCP integration connects Claude to 8,000-plus apps. Whatever your business runs on, it can be bridged.
What This Moment Actually Is
The previous era of business software: subscribe to a tool, learn the interface, export data, analyse it separately, build your workflow around the tool's limitations.
The new model this plugin demonstrates: describe what you want to know, have the system pull from every tool simultaneously, get the answer rather than the data.
The Business Pulse skill does not tell you your QuickBooks balance. It tells you your cash position, the three invoices most likely to cause a problem this month, and which meetings this week are with people who owe you money. That is a different category of output.
423,000 downloads in the first period. That number measures people who installed at least one skill and kept it , not people who tried it once and uninstalled. The retention signal is the meaningful number.
Anthropic described what they are building as "Claude stops being a chatbot and starts being a business operating system." The 31 skills are the first working demonstration of that claim for a non-technical audience.
Not a pitch. A product.
